Nestled in the heart of Milan, the Brera district is a vibrant neighborhood known for its artistic flair and rich cultural heritage. Home to the prestigious Pinacoteca and Art Academy, this area boasts narrow, cobblestone streets lined with antique shops, galleries, and design showrooms. During Fuorisalone, Brera becomes a hub for high-profile events, attracting top designers and an audience deeply interested in contemporary design. The Brera Design District is a territorial marketing initiative aimed at promoting excellence and real estate development in the area.
Once an abandoned industrial site, the Magazzini Raccordati via Ferrante Aporti has transformed into a dynamic space for creative expression. This unique location, featuring vaulted ceilings and historic architecture, showcases contemporary design from the Netherlands and Belgium. The Ventura Centrale project brings together international design organizations and local groups to curate a diverse range of exhibitions and events. In 2019, the area was dedicated to fashion, hosting parades, exhibitions, and cultural events throughout the year.
Though named after a single street, Tortona becomes a major focal point during Fuorisalone, especially in the surrounding Navigli area. Former warehouses and factories transform into exhibition spaces filled with experimental and futuristic designs. This district is known for its mix of established names and emerging talents, creating a vibrant atmosphere of innovation. The iconic SUPERSTUDIO is a must-visit, offering a museum-like experience focused on quality and creativity. The next edition of Gisella Borioli’s project will highlight the theme of TECH&GREEN.
Known as "five streets," 5Vie is one of Milan’s oldest yet most dynamic districts. It spans from the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana to the Basilica of Sant’Ambrogio, blending history with modern design. Officially part of Design Week, the district offers a mix of showrooms, artisan workshops, and cultural sites. It’s a hidden gem that showcases traditional craftsmanship alongside contemporary design. The 5Vie District is a cultural and marketing initiative aimed at promoting the city’s historic core.
