Nick Olsen began his journey in design after earning a degree in architecture from Columbia University and working under the guidance of renowned decorator Miles Redd. In 2010, he launched his own firm, Nick Olsen Inc, where he blends comfort, style, and a deep appreciation for history with a modern twist. His designs are known for their clever use of antiques, contemporary art, and bold color choices that reflect both past influences and a fresh, forward-thinking perspective.
His work is characterized by a unique sense of humor, an eye for scale, and a strong understanding of texture contrasts. Each project is tailored to the specific needs of the client, ensuring that every space feels personal and meaningful. From mid-century modern homes to luxurious urban apartments, Nick's portfolio showcases a wide range of styles and spaces that reflect his creative vision.
Nick has worked on a variety of high-profile projects, including a mid-century modern home in Cincinnati, multiple Park Avenue apartments for the same family, and a traditional Nantucket summer home. His work also extends to iconic New York City locations, such as a West Village apartment, a Brooklyn Heights townhouse, and an Upper East Side duplex.
At just 24 years old, Nick’s first studio apartment was featured on the cover of Domino magazine, and one of his early projects made it to the August 2013 cover of The World of Interiors. This early recognition helped establish him as a rising star in the interior design world.
Nick's work has been featured in top publications like Architectural Digest, Veranda, House Beautiful, Traditional Home, British Homes & Gardens, and the Wall Street Journal. He has also been named to ELLE Décor’s A-List for two consecutive years, solidifying his reputation as one of the most influential designers in the industry.

A sand clock glass is a transparent container that is used to hold sand in an hourglass or sand timer. The glass is typically made of durable material such as glass or plastic and is shaped in an inverted cone or bulb shape. The sand is placed in the upper bulb or cone, and as it flows through a small opening into the lower bulb or cone, it measures a specific amount of time. The sand clock glass allows for easy visibility of the sand as it flows, making it a popular choice for timing activities or games.
