About the fault handling that occurs when the cash register host starts up


1. After the cash register is turned on, the screen does not light, and the buzzer sounds an alarm.

There are usually the following:

â—† 1 long and 1 short: memory or motherboard error. Try another memory.

â—† 1 long 2 short: display or display card error.

â—† 1 long 3 short: keyboard controller error. Check the motherboard.

â—† 1 long 9 short: The motherboard flash RAM or EPROM error, the BIOS is damaged.

â—† Constantly ringing (long sound): The memory module is not plugged or damaged. Please try to re-plug the memory module.

â—† Keep ringing: The power supply and monitor are not connected to the display card. Check all the plugs.

â—† Repeat short sound: There is a problem with the power supply.

2. When the machine is turned on, the machine powers on, the screen does not display, press the switch to keep power.

â—†The motherboard is powered, but the BIOS is not turned on. Please remove the button battery on the motherboard and discharge the motherboard.

â—† Check if the power supply has power to the motherboard. (Methods as below)

â—† Power check method, disconnect the 24P connection plug between the main board and the power supply, find the PS-NO (green line) on the plug and any GND (black line), and short the two lines with tweezers or other metal conductors. Forced start if the power supply is not faulty or the power supply is normal. (The power supply fan will start)

3. When the machine is turned on, the machine power light is on, the screen is not displayed, and the hard disk light will flash after a few tens of seconds.

4. The machine cannot be started when the machine is turned on, and the machine power light does not light.

â—† Check if the power supply of the power strip is powered and check if there is power in the socket.

â—† Check if the cash register power cord is tight. If you are moving the cash register or moving the counter goods, you may encounter the cash register power cord. If the power cord is not plugged in, the machine will not start.

â—†Please check to confirm that all the cables are connected properly and start the test again.

5. The display does not display several common phenomena and causes after booting.

There is no display after the boot, there may be several reasons based on experience, so we need to use the method of exclusion to determine the specific reason.

[Phenomenon 1]: When booting up, normal system hardware detection occurs, and the choice of operating system appears. Then the display has no signal.

[Analysis reason] The graphics card driver may be abnormal.

【Solution】

1 When booting, press F8 to enter safe mode. If you can enter safe mode, then delete the display card driver under Device Manager.

2 Then restart the monitor again and then reinstall the graphics card driver.

[Phenomenon 2]: When booting, when the XP system is entered, the display has no signal.

[Analysis reason] If the XP system progress bar appears when entering the system, it can be determined that there is a problem with the boot file of the XP system.

6. The cash register cannot be turned on.

Check if the cash register is powered on and check if the power cord is connected to the cash register. If it is an adapter, check if the indicator light of the adapter is on and the adapter cable is connected.

Tips: Do not use the same plug in the cash register with high-powered appliances, which will affect the use and life of the cash register.

7. The monitor does not reflect after booting, and is accompanied by an alarm sound.

This situation is mostly related to memory. Solution: Unplug the memory module and wipe it with a new one hundred dollar bill.

8. Power switch problem

A, boot no display.

The battery is dead or the AC power is not plugged in. Please connect the AC power supply or check if the AC power has been plugged in.

B. The terminal automatically shuts down.

When there is no external power supply, the power saving program is set to automatically shut down when no button is pressed for a certain period of time. Restart it. If the POS cash register does not automatically shut down, you can modify the shutdown time to 0.
