Food packaging will promote environmentally friendly BOPS materials

Plastic trays are currently widely used in food packaging, especially for quick-frozen foods, frozen foods and other packaging. In the past, food trays were mainly made of materials such as PS (polystyrene), PVC (polyvinyl chloride), and PP (polypropylene). However, recently scientifically confirmed that these three kinds of packaging materials have different levels of harmful substances. At present, an environmentally friendly packaging material, BOPS (biaxially oriented polypropylene), has begun to be used in food packaging in the world.

BOPS has several characteristics: good optical properties, good transparency and gloss in freezing and steam (-40°C—90°C); high recovery value, safe recovery or incineration; odorless No odor transfer occurs; the cost is low, and at the same strength, the price ratio of BOPS to PVC is 0.7:1. Experts believe that it is imperative to replace PS, PVC, and PP with food packaging materials that are safer and more reliable.
