Honeycomb cardboard features

Honeycomb paperboard is made according to the principle of natural honeycomb structure. It connects corrugated base paper into numerous hollow three-dimensional regular hexagons by means of adhesive bonding method to form an integral force piece - paper core and adheres on both sides thereof. Paper made of a new sandwich structure of environmentally friendly energy-saving materials. The main features of honeycomb paperboard are:

(1) Light weight, less material, and lower cost. The honeycomb sandwich structure has the greatest strength/mass ratio compared to other various sheet structures, and thus the finished product has a good performance/price ratio, which is the key to the success of the honeycomb board.

(5) No pollution, in line with modern environmental trends. Honeycomb paperboard is made entirely of recyclable paper and can be recycled and used 100% after use.

Corrugated board structure has reached its limit

After nearly 150 years of hard work and practice throughout the world, corrugated board technology continues to deepen. Now the development of corrugated board has reached the limit, specifically:

(1) Basic specifications of corrugated specifications. Tile type structure A, B, C, E type, the production of corrugated boxes is mainly used for corrugated color printing carton packaging. For different corrugated board requirements, choosing the right tile type has become common sense.

(2) The manufacture of corrugated boxes has been mechanized. Since the British invented the corrugated medium, the production of corrugated boxes has evolved from the original hand-made original production to the automated production. The quality and style of the produced products have fully met the requirements of market users for corrugated boxes.

(3) Marketization of corrugated box production. Corrugated box production has been fully market-oriented. Currently, the carton industry has formed a specialized division of labor between “centralized system manufacturing” and “decentralized system manufacturing”. All that needs to be done in the future is to increase the level of professional division of labor.

(4) There is a serious excess supply and demand for corrugated boxes. The corrugated box industry has always been ahead of the pace of economic development.

Corrugated technology is not a high-tech science. The process from corrugating machinery manufacturing to corrugated paper box production is not very complicated. After the high-grade corrugated production line and the advanced back-channel printing slotting machinery are put into use, the supply and demand of corrugated boxes has become excessive. As far as the whole country is concerned, there are too many equipments, under-employment, fierce competition, low efficiency, and industrial turmoil, leading to a long-term serious excess of corrugated box production. Some people claim that corrugated boxes have a strong vitality, corrugated boxes occupy an important position in the entire package. However, we must recognize the fact that after one and a half centuries of development, the corrugated technology has entered the old age period and must seek new vitality.

Honeycomb cardboard structure development difficult

China's honeycomb paperboard research and development technology began in the 1980s. After more than ten years of efforts, China's honeycomb paperboard technology has made breakthrough progress. However, although the development prospect of China's honeycomb paperboard is promising, the problem cannot be ignored. There is still a big gap between the development of honeycomb paperboard and corrugated paperboard. At present, there are several problems in controlling the development of honeycomb paperboards. First, the integrity, stability, processing precision, and appearance quality of our country's honeycomb paperboard production lines are still far from the advanced level in foreign countries. The automation level of production equipment is low, and some processes still use manual operations, resulting in low production efficiency. In particular, the honeycomb paperboard products molding processing equipment is relatively simple, and some are even blank.

The level of processing technology of molding technology is an important link to ensure the quality of paper honeycomb products. The forming process of honeycomb paperboard and corrugated board is different, the former requires higher and more difficult. Corrugated board indentation, die cutting, slotting, edge sealing, bonding, Ell, ~ 0, ordering and other processes can be solved in the mechanical equipment, and honeycomb paperboard in the molding process, such as indentation, sealing There are still problems in the edge, moisture-proof, flatness, smoothness and other aspects. The honeycomb paperboard products produced have rough surfaces, poor colors, and insufficient grades, making it difficult to achieve standardization and serialization, and it is difficult to meet the needs of users. Therefore, honeycomb paperboard molding processing technology is still an important factor in suppressing the development of honeycomb paperboard. In addition, the waterproof and moisture-proof problem of honeycomb paperboard has not been well solved. Boxes and pallets made of honeycomb paperboard are weakened by moisture and cannot withstand impact and vibration. Corrugated cardboard is several times higher than honeycomb cardboard in its ability to withstand the intrusion of foreign objects. In addition, it is difficult to form honeycomb boxes into cardboard boxes, and there is no suitable supporting equipment. It is difficult to produce cartons in large scale.

The second is market issues. At present, the honeycomb paperboard market is still relatively vague. The first problem that affects market development is the price issue. The price of honeycomb paperboard is actually not much cheaper than wood packaging; the effect of wood substitution on the market is also a problem. The main purpose of honeycomb paperboard is trays and cushion liners, and technical issues such as waterproof and moisture-proof are not very serious. Good solution, affect the use of results.

The third is poor awareness of business services. Some paper honeycomb enterprises are quick-money, short-sighted, and low-level in management. They not only pay no attention to product quality, exaggerate hype, and shoddy, but also do not pay attention to after-sales service, and cannot provide timely technical and technological support to customers, resulting in adverse effects.

Corrugated cardboard and honeycomb cardboard performance comparison

The same paper and paper core, the same amount of paper, the glue between the core and the paper is also the same corrugated cardboard and honeycomb paperboard performance test, test data shown in Table 1.

The data defined by:

(1) The compressive strength of honeycomb paperboard is much higher than that of corrugated paperboard. In the case of a certain amount of consumables, the flat compressive strength of honeycomb paperboard decreases with the increase of the aperture.

(2) The lateral compressive strength of the honeycomb paperboard decreases with the increase of the aperture; the lateral pressure strength of the corrugated cardboard is much higher than that of the honeycomb paperboard, and the transverse lateral compressive strength is lower than that of the honeycomb paperboard.

(3) The bending strength of honeycomb paperboard is higher than that of corrugated paperboard, and its bending strength increases with the increase of the aperture.

(4) The peel strength of corrugated cardboard is higher than that of honeycomb paperboard; the peel strength of honeycomb paperboard increases with the decrease of the aperture.

(5) The puncture strength of both honeycomb paperboard and corrugated paperboard is not substantially different.

From the above analysis, we can see that corrugated paperboard and honeycomb paperboard have been developed to the present day. One has reached the limit and one step has been difficult. Therefore, we must develop a new world. If the corrugated paperboard is used together with the honeycomb paperboard, the advantages of the corrugated paperboard and the honeycomb paperboard can be exerted, and the side-compression strength and the flat-press strength of the composite paperboard can be improved. In addition, in the production of the packaging box, if the corrugated box is used as the box, the upper and lower walls of the box are lined with honeycomb paperboard to improve the shockproof, compression resistance, heat preservation, anti-jamming ability and bearing capacity of the packaging box. Therefore, at this stage, corrugated paperboard and honeycomb paperboard cannot be competitors each other, but should become partners in production and application.

Corrugated cardboard and honeycomb cardboard have their own advantages. To sum up, the advantage of corrugated paperboard lies in its strong strength, mature products, and abundant talents. However, there is an oversupply of enterprises that urgently needs to develop new markets. The advantage of honeycomb paperboard is that it has a large market, new products, and good efficiency, but the scale of the company is not large, development is not fast, and there are many difficulties, and it is hoped that the corrugated paperboard industry will have strong support. Therefore, the two should be combined with complementary advantages and common development. This is an inevitable trend of scientific development.
