The incredible design project in Paris by Caroline Keslassy
In today’s post, we’re celebrating a remarkable design project nestled in the heart of Paris. This stunning space was created by the renowned architect Caroline Keslassy, known for her innovative and artistic approach to interior design. Located in the iconic Place de L’Etoile, the project blends elegance with modernity, showcasing her deep connection to her hometown while drawing inspiration from global design trends.
Keslassy’s work is not just about aesthetics; it's about creating environments that foster creativity, comfort, and functionality. When she was commissioned to design an office for a French cosmeceuticals brand, she aimed to craft a space that felt both professional and welcoming. Her vision included a reception area designed with multiple seating zones—ranging from casual nooks for individual work to more formal spaces for meetings. The use of niches allowed for private moments, essential for both focus and inspiration.
The design features luxurious elements from top brands such as Essential Home’s Carver Armchair, Brabbu’s Earth Armchair, DelightFULL’s Brubeck Floor Lamp, Galliano ceiling lamps, and the elegant Ike Floor Lamp. These pieces were carefully selected to reflect a balance between opulence and comfort.
Keslassy believes that offices should feel like a home, blurring the lines between residential and commercial spaces. “I wanted to create warmth, aliveness, and friendliness through graphic design,†she explains. “I’m drawn to soft, comfortable yet luxurious elements.â€
The color palette is neutral, allowing textures to take center stage. The carpet pattern, inspired by fish scales, pairs beautifully with shagreen and seashells, while the artwork includes pieces by Andy Warhol. The lighting, inspired by musical themes, adds a sense of rhythm and energy to the space.
Privacy and poetry are also key elements in the design. Sheers were used to maintain a sense of intimacy while adding a touch of elegance. The furniture features a mid-century aesthetic, with materials like Parisian tweed, silks, velvets, leathers, and natural fibers such as shagreen, seashells, tree fibers, parchments, and wood.
This project is a testament to Keslassy’s craftsmanship and attention to detail. It’s a space that not only serves its purpose but also inspires those who step inside.
