In recent days, the media reported that three types of plasticizer components were found in liquor: di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP), and phthalic acid. Among them, dibutyl phthalate (DBP) has raised significant public concern. In response, the National Standards Committee has issued the standard "GB/T 21911-2008 Determination of Phthalates in Foods," which uses gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) to analyze plasticizers in food products. However, one key limitation of this method is that the sample must be completely free of water after treatment, making it unsuitable for analyzing plasticizers in alcoholic beverages like liquor. Moreover, there are over 800 different types of plasticizers, and relying solely on GC-MS may not be sufficient to cover the expanding range of these substances. As a result, various relevant departments across the country are now working on developing new liquid chromatography methods that can detect a broader spectrum of plasticizers, ensuring more comprehensive and accurate testing in the future.
