The spheroidization rate is 2, indicating the degree of graphite spheroidization in the cast iron. The ball diameter is 6 mm, and the base value of 268 refers to the specific metallographic standard (944188) adopted by our factory for ductile iron. The number "26" indicates that the matrix contains 10% pearlite, meaning the microstructure consists of ferrite combined with 10% spheroidal graphite and phosphorus eutectic.
Carburizing body 13 undergoes heat treatment and furnace application. During the heat treatment process, silicon spheroidal graphite cast iron exhibits a metallurgical structure composed mainly of ferrite and spheroidal graphite, with a low amount of pearlite. The original structure of the as-cast silicon ductile iron has a controlled pearlite content, which has been successfully managed during the production process, meeting the required standards.
For light heat-resistant ductile iron (standard 98478), however, when used in heat-resistant casting applications, it's necessary to reduce the pearlite content in order to improve the material’s plasticity. This is achieved through low-temperature graphitization annealing, which decomposes the pearlite. The final microstructure becomes ferrite with a small amount of pearlite. To achieve a ferrite matrix with high plasticity and toughness, low-temperature graphitization annealing is essential. Since there is almost no free cementite present in the structure, full graphitization annealing is not required. The casting is heated to a temperature range of 720–760°C and held at this temperature for 4 hours before being cooled to 600°C and air-cooled.
In terms of furnace application, under similar operating conditions, after over two years of use, each roasting box can last for six months, while the furnace floor lasts more than one year.
From an economic perspective, using this material has extended the life of the roasting crucible by one time, saving over 35,000 yuan annually. Additionally, the furnace floor has exceeded its original lifespan, resulting in annual savings of over 15,000 yuan. In total, the annual cost savings exceed 50,000 yuan.
