The Founder Century RIP PSPNT Apple's Output Technology Freehand 8.0 Chinese Version

1. Printer driver PSPNT 2.1 strongly recommends users to use the LaserWriter 8 driver that comes with each version, as shown in [26 http://].
2.PPD
PSPNT 2.1 strongly recommends that users use PPD files generated by PSPNT to create PPD files through options/generating PPD files, as shown in [27http://].
Because the PPD file contains information about fonts already installed in the RIP, if you added or deleted a font, regenerate the PPD file.
3. Separation, Masking, and Spot Colors If you want grayscale output, set the color mode to Gray (see Figure 28), and the color separation option in QuarkXpress 3.3 is set to Off.
If you want to output four color films, it is recommended to set the color mode to CMYK (Figure [29http://]) and the color separation option in QuarkXpress 3.3 to “On” or “Off”.
Can (it is recommended to set to "on"). Of course, you can also set the color mode to Gray, and make sure that the PSPNT's user-defined netting parameter is set to "Prohibit user profiles", and then set the separation option to "On" in QuarkXpress 3.3. Four color versions are output. However, compared with the previous method, the four color plates output by this method cannot perform color pre-display.
Under the color mode, there is an option "Allow Output Spot Color". When the application is masked and the document contains a spot color, the spot color will be output only if this option is selected; otherwise, the spot color in the document will be Is divided into four color output, QuarkXpress 3.3 Chinese version is like this. But for QuarkXpress 3.3 English version,
If there is a spot color in the document, QuarkXpress will not support the color output, spot color version is divided into four color output, which is caused by the BUG of QuarkXpress 3.3 English version.
4. Page size setting In QuarkXpress 3.3 Chinese version, the file size is set by the file/document setting, as shown in [90http://]. The final print size is set by the file/page setting. In QuarkXpress, you only need to set the paper width. The length direction value is automatically calculated by QuarkXpress, as shown in [91http://]. If the printing direction is Portrait, which is the way to the left of the figure below, the value filled in the paper width is the width value set by the document; if the proofing direction is Landscape, it is the way to the right of the image below. The value that is filled in the paper width is the height value set in the document, and this should be paid special attention. As in [92http://].
When you use QuarkXpress's imposition registration mark, as shown in [93http://], you need to add 20-30mm to the value of the paper width to print the imposition registration mark.
5. Resolution setting
In PSPNT 2.1, the resolution can only be set in the parameter template provided by RIP, as shown in [35http://].
The resolution set in QuarkXpress does not work and the settings in [94http://][95http://] do not work.
6. When the mesh is set for color separation printing, PSPNT 2.1 uses the mesh setting in QuarkXpress 3.3, which is the value in the "halftone screen" as the final output, as shown in [96http://].
For meshed printing, the mesh is related to the user-defined connection parameters. If you select “Allow” or “Prohibit user mesh,” PSPNT 2.1 also uses the mesh settings in QuarkXpress 3.3 as the final output.
If you select "Not Allowed", PSPNT will use the "Hang Nets" setting in the parameter template as the final output. As shown in [39http://].
If you specify a mesh for a grayscale image using the Style/Additional Screens feature (Figure [97http://]), the final output mesh for this grayscale image is the same as described above.
7. Mesh settings When you print in QuarkXpress 3.3, there is no option to set the mesh shape. PSPNT will use the mesh settings in the dot type in the parameter template as the final mesh output. However, if you use the style/other screen/image screen specification dialog box (as shown in Figure [98http://]) to specify a mesh for the grayscale image, the mesh of this grayscale image is related to the user-defined connection parameters. If you select "Allow", PSPNT 2.1 will use the mesh settings in QuarkXpress 3.3 as the final output. If you select “Not Allowed” or “Prohibit User Profiles”, PSPNT will use the mesh settings in the “dot type” in the parameter template as the final output.
*Note: QuarkXpress 3.3 allows you to set the mesh shape for BitMap black and white pictures, but because BitMap pictures have been linked to image processing software such as Photoshop,
The mesh specified in QuarkXpress 3.3 will not work.
8. Web corner setting The web corner is related to the user-defined connection parameters. If you select “Allow” or “Prohibit user configuration”, PSPNT 2.1 will use the web corner setting in QuarkXpress 3.3.
As the final output. For the "Not Allowed" option, if you print in QuarkXpress 3.3, PSPNT will use the web corner settings in the parameter template.
As final output; if color separation printing is done in QuarkXpress 3.3, PSPNT will use QuarkXpress 3.3's web corner setting as the final output.
Set the position of the web corner in QuarkXpress 3.3 as shown in [99http://][100http://], and set the web corner by checking/unchecking “Use screen setting in PDF file”.
If you use a style/other screen function (as in [97http://]) to specify a screen angle for a grayscale image, the final output screen angle for this grayscale image is the same as described above.
9. Rotation direction setting The direction of the final output of the document is related to the rotation setting in the marker settings, as shown in [101http://].
If the flag setting is set to "Automatic rotation", the PSPNT will decide whether to rotate the document based on the orientation of the saving film. If set to "don't rotate",
PSPNT will use the QuarkXpress 3.3 rotation setting as the final output direction. The direction of "rotation" is always opposite to the direction of "non-rotation."
Setting rotation in QuarkXpress 3.3 is set via File/Page Settings/Page Properties/Print Direction as shown in [92http://].
(*Note: If you want the final output direction to be set by the QuarkXpress 3.3 application, it is recommended to set the rotation setting to "Do not rotate" in the marker settings)
10. Mirror settings
The setting of the mirror in PSPNT 2.1 is determined by the setting of "Output Image" in the parameter template, as shown in [45http://].
In QuarkXpress 3.3, the setting of the mirror in the PPD will not work, as shown in [102http://] (File/Print/Printer Specific Options).
However, the setting of the mirror image in Laserwriter 8 will work, as shown in [103http://].
However, if you set both the mirror in the PSPNT and the “horizontal inversion” or “vertical inversion” in QuarkXpress, it will produce the effect of mirroring and then mirroring.
Please note this.
11. Negative Settings
The setting of the negative plots in PSPNT 2.1 is determined by the setting of the “Output negative plots” in the parameter template, as shown in [47http://].
Settings in QuarkXpress 3.3 will not work, as shown in Figure [104http://] (File/Print/Printer Specific Options).
However, the settings of the Guanyin diagram in Laserwriter 8 will work, as shown in [105http://].
However, if you set both the negative picture in PSPNT and the “reverse picture” in QuarkXpress, the negative picture will be generated and the negative picture will be displayed again. Please note this.
12. Font Download In QuarkXpress 3.3 Chinese version, QuarkXpress will automatically detect whether PSPNT has installed the font used in the document. If it is found that PSPNT has the corresponding font is not installed, QuarkXpress will download the TrueType font in the system. In the QuarkXpress 3.3 Chinese version of the tool menu, there is a function called "printer font table", but this feature often causes QuarkXpress 3.3 deadlock, please use with caution, if you must use, please save the file before use. If you want to generate a PS document, you can use the "Save As File" dialog box, "None", "All", "All fonts except 13 standard fonts", "Include Fonts",
"All fonts except PPD file" to determine whether to download the font, as shown in Figure [106http://]
*Note: These options only work with English fonts. Chinese fonts are only affected by the Printer Font Table.
13. Notes 1) The path to the PDK for QuarkXpress 3.3 search is System Folder \ Extension \ Printer Descriptions. This folder is not available in the Chinese version of the operating system.
You need to manually create this folder and copy the PPD file into it.
