Take the refrigerator packaging as an example to see how honeycomb paper can be used to reduce the burden on packaging.

A relatively complete package of refrigerators consists of roughly four parts

1 inner packaging bag , mainly to protect the surface of the refrigerator from being scratched by the packaging lining and dustproof and moisture-proof. At present, PE bags, EPE bags, etc. are often used;

2 Packaging lining , consisting of three parts: top lining, corner lining and bottom lining, mainly used to ensure that the refrigerator will not be damaged when it is accidentally impacted during transportation;

3 outer packaging box , not only provides the outermost layer of protection for the refrigerator, but also prints product identification information on its surface;

4 various labels and so on.

Among them, the corner lining (shown in Figure 1) is an important part of the buffer packaging of the refrigerator. Its main function is: absorbing the violent impact that may be suffered from the side of the refrigerator during the loading and unloading process; during the clamping operation, the refrigerator is protected from any damage. Honeycomb paperboard with good cushioning properties can meet the above requirements, so it can be used to make corner lining. Below, take the refrigerator corner lining design as an example to explain the practical application of honeycomb paperboard in detail.

In the case of a certain angle lining material, the design process of the corner lining mainly considers the following parameters (as shown in Figure 2).

(1) Corner lining thicknesses T1, T2. Generally, T1 and T2 are equal, and are 20 to 30 mm. However, if the surface features of the refrigerator (such as the back compressor protrusion, the wide door, the handle, etc.) are different, T1 and T2 may not be equal. For the protective surface where these features are located, the corresponding corner lining thickness is slightly thicker.

(2) Corner lining height L. It is determined by the height of the refrigerator. In general, the height of the corner lining is not less than 75% of the height of the refrigerator.
